Massachusetts Social Equity Program

The Massachusetts Social Equity Program (SEP) is a free statewide initiative designed to support individuals and communities disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs. The program offers education, technical assistance, and workforce training to help participants enter or advance within the legal cannabis industry. SEP provides multiple learning tracks including entrepreneurship, management, and entry-level workforce pathways so participants can choose the option that fits their goals. Completing the program can also open the door to benefits such as fee waivers, access to the EquityWorks Career Hub, and eligibility for funding opportunities like the Cannabis Social Equity Trust Fund.

The Social Equity Program plays an important role in creating a more inclusive and diverse cannabis industry in Massachusetts. By removing barriers, offering hands on support, and providing direct pathways to employment and business ownership, SEP empowers people to build meaningful careers especially those who have historically been excluded from economic opportunities. For many, it serves as a first step toward stability, entrepreneurship, and long-term success in the regulated cannabis market.
